Some People Just Don't Have A Clue

So apparently, according to the judge who has just awarded a woman £6m for facial palsy resulting from a face lift, "Unless she makes a full recovery ... recovers some vestige of her former self-confidence, the prospect of engagement in business activities that involve face-to-face contact with others is limited."

I'm sorry, but bollocks!

He seems to be suggesting that people with facial palsy are incapable of having successful careers involving actually having to have contact with anyone else. I'd like him to come and tell me that to my face, or in fact any of the incredible people I know with facial palsy, which includes teachers, doctors, therapists, engineers. None of the people I know have facial palsy as a result of their own vanity; they have facial palsy caused by a variety of things including birth trauma, congenital malformations, life saving operations and Bell's Palsy (like me).

Should we all be sat at home on state benefits, as "the prospect of engagement in business activities that involve face-to-face contact with others is limited"? Should we all be given £6m? Or should we get on with our successful lives and careers and prove to imbeciles like Justice Owen that ability is not proportional to facial symmetry?
