Playing their first hometown gig in almost twelve months, Pressure Kids once again took Tamworth by storm. Fans packed into the small upstairs room at Em's Bar on Friday night to witness an energy packed, vivacious performance that has become a trademark of Pressure Kids shows.
Charlotte never fails to draw the audience in, and gave another mesmerising performance, cementing her place in my opinion as the most watchable frontwoman I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. The interaction between the Pressure Kids has an honesty that is refreshing and their enjoyment of their performance is infectious.
By the time they finished the set with Monster and Robots Break Hearts the whole room was bouncing up and down so much concerns were expressed that the floor might not take the strain, but by then they'd infected everybody with their feel-good, gritty pop and electric performance.
Of course it helped that the crowd had already been warmed up by Mr. Wolf, a "ska punk pop quadruped" from Derby and inventors of "chump rock". They come across as so likeable that they managed to simultaneously insult everybody in the room whilst making them laugh, and part of their charm is the comedic interludes between songs that you can't keep your feet still to.
F**K YEAH!! awesome gig
